Sports Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai refused to apologise to north Chennai DMK MP Kalanidhi Veerasamy over the former’s allegations on top DMK leaders regarding the ‘DMK files’. Annamalai denied that he had committed any offense.

In a reply notice through his advocate RC Paul Kanagaraj, the BJP leader said all the statements and interviews made by him in concern with the large interest of the public and to create awareness about the actual facts and figures about the assets of DMK top leaders.

“There is absolutely no violation of any law of defamation as sought to be alleged in your notice. This act is itself indicative that the notice is nothing but a feverish attempt to somehow or other prevent people from knowing the facts and figures of your assets.” Annamalai said in his reply to the DMK MP’s legal notice.

DMK MP Kalanidhi Veerasamy, represented by advocate Wilson had earlier issued a legal notice to Annamalai over his allegations of corruption against him in “DMK files.”

It is to be noted that Kalanidhi wrote to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to probe Annamalai transactions after he needed Rs 7 lakh rupees every month to manage his expenses as party president.

On April 14, Annamalai released a document titled ‘DMK files’ where he published the assets list of DMK’s top leaders. Annamalai had claimed that 27 DMK leaders alone possess assets worth Rs 2.24 lakh crore which is 10% of Tamil Nadu’s GDP.
